Getting Rid of My Beer Gut, Tips for This Diet Plan?

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: Now I am 5′8 and weigh about 160 lbs, which isn’t much for a male, or even considered overweight, but I am not a muscly guy, so I would say I have an easy 10 lbs on my stomach/man boobs of beer greatness.

I will also note, that I do not want to loose any of the muscle mass I do have.
Now I have never really had to diet or work out a lot(outside of job requirements) so I am new to this.

So I was thinking a high nutrition/low carbs diet, you know, the food that sucks, and I was going going to foot march around 4-6 miles a day with about 40lbs in my back pack for the next two weeks, as well as moderate weight lifting just to keep my muscles, twice a week for just a half hour or so. Also keeping my daily calories low, 1300ish.

Would their be any weight loss outlook in that? And really, if I don’t really loose wait it does not matter, I just want to get rid of my torso fat. And also, would I Iose any muscle weight(I do not want this)?

Also note that I am a conditioned marcher so I do not need any input on that.

Answer: First: Knock off the beer. But don’t replace it with ice cream, sodas, candy, cake, etc.
What you need is a balanced diet. And exercise.
Guts come from overcarbing & lack of exercise, but replacing the carbs w/ a high protein diet will knock off some weight (with exercise), but it will come right back when you slip into old habits.
Recommended: The Zone, Barry Sears. He has a website & a dozen books. It’s all about a balanced diet that avoids the junk–fat & sugar–that is the staple of the modern American diet.
But you don’t starve yourself, there is plenty of variety. It’s just well-balanced. Like we used to eat.
It’s not a "crash"–just a healthy, gradual body readjustment.

Any Good Diet Plan Tips and Advice?

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I’m 5′ and weigh around 115, but i want to lose 15-20 pounds. Would the following menu be good to follow?
Breakfast: 2 eggs, or egg whites (would whole wheat toast be a smart add-on or a poor decision? sometimes if i dont get carbs in the morning, i don’t feel as satisfied)
Lunch: Salad or protein shake (can anyone reccommend some yummy ones?)
Dinner: Salad, with either grilled chicken, or avocado, or beans, or similar stuff.
I go to the gym around 5 days out of the week, so would this be good to power me up for my workouts, but still allow me to lose weight? Would having fruit smoothies (just fruit in a blender with ice) for breakfast sometimes be too much sugar?
Any additional tips?? sorry this was long, i just wanna find out what will work best :) Just so everyone knows, i wanna lose this weight to get the blubber off my thighs and stomach area, not to go crazy with my weight and be super skinny :)
Answer: Breakfast- eat 1 egg with yolk at least once a week. Egg whites, heck i eat them 2x a day sometimes. It’s okay to have toast in the morning. I do. Add fruit and some water and you’ll be good to go.

Lunch- Protien shakes? ehh I sometimes use half a bannana, ice, honey, and peanut butter. I recommend a salad and add protiens like turkey or grilled chicken with lots of veggies and no dressing.

Dinner- thats fine, add some veggies maybe?
Add snacks too! eat granola bars, or rice cakes and salsa for a filling treat. Rice cakes are 35 calories a cake and top it with salsa and eat away!

What's Your Favorite Diet Plan? Or Tip? ?

Filed under: diet tips — Tags: — Ruby @ 7:01 am

I just love answering these diet tips questions. Here’s another:

Question: Trying to lose a few pounds… Anything would help… Thanks :)
Answer: I got just what you need. If you want to lose a pound a week its as simple as what im going to tell you. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. Divide that by 7(days in a week) and you get 500. So you want to have 500 calories less than your bmr. Your bmr is what your body burns everyday by doing nothing. Just type into google "bmr calculator" and you can get it. Now you have to get rid of 500 of those calories by exercise or consuming less or both. Try to eat raw and healthy foods. You can have a cheat meal once a week but what i do is every other day i have a sweet but fit it into my calories so i dont have to worry about it. You can research the rest hope this helps!!

Dieting Question, and Motivation Tips?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: I have already asked this question, but i made a diet plan for myself which is
Breakfast: Low fat and low calorie yogurt and a handful of peanuts
Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwhich, or a bagel with no filling, and butter
Snack: some type of fruit or veggie
Dinner: Salad with veggies on it and roasted almonds with oil and lemon italion dressing
i would do this for one week, then just eat healthy for the next week and do this one more time, but afterwards i would stop, maybe do this once a month but still eat healthy. Along with doing jumping jacks, crunches, push ups(on knees, working on getting better) hula hooping on wii fit, jogging in place on wii fit, walking 4 times a week atleast, and bike riding when warm out. How long will it take to lose 15 pounds, and also, i need some motivstional tips, i am not obese but i am overweight, and if i lose 15 pounds i will be almost perfect weight!!! please help me
8 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.
Additional Details
Sometimes i might add grilled chicken to the salad
Answer: Well, you should run a lot, nothing is better for you than running, and skipping with a jump rope is brilliant cardio, and your diet sounds good, but you didn’t say what these other healthy foods are, as long as they are balanced.
Motivation: lol, I don’t know what to write, you should just keep thinking about what you want to achieve.
