Tips on How to Lose Weight.? (Diets,Exercises,)?

A tough diet tips question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I just got a Bowflew workout thing for christmas. And was wondering if it really works.?
Now for the real questions.:
I always go on diets because im horrible at keeping track of calories, what i should eat etc.
So when i have a diet i know what foods i can and cannot eat i tried the Atkins (however you spell it) but its just to hard im about 10 lbs. overweight…so i just need to lose that much. How long would that take?and What diet can i use because i Always cave when i dont have a list of foods i can eat so that is why i need a diet….i know crazy. Im not going on one of those Extreme diets where you just drink water for a week etc… ha
And other question if you have a website that takes me exactly to where it shows me how to use the bowflex please copy and paste.

So to refresh my questions are:
-Is the bowflex a good workout machine
-What diet can i use
-How long would it take to lose 10lbs. (if i actually put effort into it)
-Website for uses of bowflex

P.S-If i stretch everyday once a day (arms, legs,) and do situps will that help alot or barely.?
Thanks alot for all the answers!
Happy Holidays!
P.S.S im really wanting to get fit before summer!!!!!(:

Answer: This is a link to an article on getting faster results with your bowflex: http://ezinearticles.com/?Bowflex-Exercises—The-Secret-to-Getting-Faster-Results-With-Your-Bowflex-Exercises&id=1729290

Yes, it is a good machine, as long as you have the discipline to stick with it.

Some of my friends have had the best dieting results by not going on a specific diet, but just cutting out sodas.

Stretching is a good warm-up, but if you’re going for weight loss, you need some type of aerobic activity that gets your heart rate up. Even a brisk walk will do the trick.

Good luck!

Started My Diet Today. Tips? Advice?

What a great diet tips question:

Question: So today was the big day for me and hopefully this time it’ll be something significant and long term.

I am 17 years of age and have a BMI over 50.
I don’t know my exact weight but I am somewhere between 350-375.
I know that for skinny people, 15lbs is a HUGE interval to be in between, but once you reach a certain weight, 15lbs means nothing.

I have a few days off work so I thought that it was best to start now so I could really plan ahead with all my free time and possibly prepare meals to bring to work, etc etc.

Since it was my day off, I slept through breakfast.

I just had lunch and I had:

2 Hardboiled Eggs - 80 Calories Ea.(for whole egg) But I only had the egg whites. So..?
1 Can of Tuna.- 120 Calories.
Bowl of Salad - Not Sure. No nutrition info.
1/2 tsp- olive oil. 15 Calories.
1 tbsp- balsamic vinegar.

I mixed it all together and had an awesome lunch.
Between preparation and the actual meal, I drank two glasses of water.

Added all together it’s about 300 calories.

Is this okay?
Should I have more/less/different foods?

Any advice is helpful.
Oh, also, I need tips for dinner!
I know that salad and steamed frozen vegtibles are on the menu but my mom prepares dinner.
Any tips on portion control- what to eat?

Another also, as you can tell my weight, running won’t be easy.
I plan to walk for about 15-30 mins maybe now-ish or after dinner.
Any other exercise you can suggest?

Thank you!!
**The Balsamic Vinegar was only 5 Calories.

Another question.
Other than calories, is there anything else I should be looking out for?
OR does low calories=always good?

I’m new to this.
:)

Answer: Walking is great to get you started. Try to see food as fuel you need for energy. I would choose more filling meals, pasta, oatmeal etc to last you from one meal to the next. It helps to cut out the snacking. Also try to avoid sitting in the kitchen, it’s just too handy to scoff fatty things. Bananas are great for giving you a boost of energy. Before eating anything that you know you really shouldn’t, ask yourself, "on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do I need this?", if you really want it, have it and walk 30min’s extra.

Healthy Diet for Today? Tips!?

What a great diet tips question:

Question: I had xc practice when i first woke up..(only about 2.5 miles today, with a little bit of strength training.)
then for breakfast, I had an apple, 1 pretty big chicken breast, and a cup of homemade squash/carrot soup..so a total of about 400 calories.
then for lunch, i had a cup of blueberries, an apple, another cup of the soup from this morning, and half a chicken breast…so about 400 calories
then for dinner, i had 7 baby carrots, 1 cup of peas, 1/2 chicken breast, and 4 oz of dannon activia yogurt(70 calories)

what are some changes i should have made today? any suggestions? improvements?
Im female, 5′4”, 16 yrs old. im not overweight, but i’d still like to drop a few lbs to be more fit.

Answer: lol this question’s pretty cute since you have absolutely nothing to worry about everything you ate couldn’t be any more healthy.. i personally haven’t ever struggled with weight in a day i drink about 3mugs of hot chocolate, and i eat yoghurt for snacks.. then i might have like a bowl of noodles and some tuna mayo pasta or something i mean yeah i work out play sport and dance but you also work out so you have nothing to worry about if you were eating like.. butterfingers lol and ben and jerry’s icecream i can totally understand but you’ll easily lose weight or stay in shape with what you’re eating remember to not drop your calorie intake too low

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: okay i’m making boiled chicken and what do i add in while it’s boiling to add flavor but not calories!!!!
Answer: flavor has calories

like water has calories, it doesn’t say it has calories but it does. Energy is required to bring the water down to your body heat. Especially if its cold or hot water.

I Need Some Tips on Diet Please, Answer.?

I just love answering these diet tips questions. Here’s another:

Question: As you can see, i started working out on my treatmill about 4 weeks ago, and so far i have notice that my pants no longer fit me like they used to which i find really good. But my issue is that i don’t know if what i’m eating is right. This is my diet. for breakfast, I eat wheat bread that brown breed, white cheese with really low calories, and butter with really low calories. For lunch i eat a small portion of rice, beans, meat, and vegetable. Later i eat diet cookies for snacks, because i get hungry. For dinner i eat an apple, cereal frootlops, and fat free milk. I also run and do fast walking on my treadmill for 40 minutes. My questions is, is my diet correct, because i’m not really good with diet. Also, when i will see good results, the only results i had is my legs are skenier a little bit, my stomach is flat, and the clothes i used to wear no longer fit me.
i’m 18 years old. i weight about 160 pounds, and my height is 5′10.
Answer: No that is not a good diet. Try this:
Breakfast: whole grain toast, yogurt and fat free milk
Lunch: Serving of lean meat, vegetables and brown rice
Snack: nuts and dried fruit
Dinner: The same as lunch but different types to get a variety

A big part of loosing Weight is changing your diet. If you are more of a grassier (eats all day about six small meals) that is actually proven to make you loose weight because it keeps your metabolism going all day. Also try to eat slowly because it takes your brain 20min to realize its full. So try to eat a hand full of nuts 20min before you eat a meal so you will feel full and eat less. A daily exercises routine is also a good thing! Hoped this helped

WORKOUT OR DIET TIP for My Situation?

I just love answering these diet tips questions. Here’s another:

Question: okay im a 20year old female. i weigh 118lbs and im 5 feet tall. now im not fat, most people say i fall in the normal thin category. but for some reason i have this little lower tum pouch. I do cardio (about 30 min on eliptical, 3 times a week), i eat pretty healthy to normal and on some weekends i eat out and don’t look at calories to much. now lately i’ve been steping up my work out, i do about 20 min of core workouts (crunches, planks, side hip dip planks, etc) to try to get rid of the lower pouch. now i’ve noticed results and i can see my abs startiing to form. but i don’t want abs i just want a flat stomach. i still have that little pouch in my lower stomach. i dont want a ab structure stomach and from the side stilll look thick, if you see me face foward my stomach looks flat but when i turn side ways it looks thick, mainly my lower stomach. how do i make it go away!
Answer: The lower pooch area is all a body fat thing…that means it doesn’t matter how much you weigh, but what your composition is. This means you need to completely step-up your workouts in intensity and do more than 3 times a week (I’m DISABLED and I workout more than you do…that should tell you something) and don’t eat "normal" but instead eat healthy all the time.

Flat abs don’t just HAPPEN. You really need to work, work, work.
