NEED HELP ON DIET/EXCERSISE TIPS!!?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: Hey guys, so i myself decided To get healthy and excersise. I’m 19 years old and I’m real determined to lose this weight. I started my diet on june 27. I started this journey at the weight of 238lbs. I was getting to heavy, just felt life being sucked out of me by grease lol. I am now 220 borderline 219. I want to hit my goal around 180 just for starters. When monday started i started to run 2 miles a day. I was at a weight loss pleatu earlier before i started running. I’ve been eating comfortably maybe around 1.6k calories. I would like to know if I’ve been doing good enough in my weight loss. And if I should improve on anything. Just maybe a good stratigized plan to help me manage. I know it’s possible for me to reach that goal, I guess I just need some reassurance in some way.. Any tips will help. As well what are some workouts i should do, or is running just enough, and a eating plan would be good. Thank you guys.
Answer: Well first of all I’m glad to hear that you are concerned about your well-being and want to change, and become a healthier person. To answer your question I’d like to separate it into categories. The first would be Diet.

Diet: you should be eating approximately 15-20% of your diet should be fat. Now when I say fat, i don’t mean trans fats, and all those other "bad fats" i mean "good fats" such as Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, or other healthy oils.. 30-40% of your diet should consist of Proteins. Proteins are very important for your bodes maintenance, and muscle repair. If you lift weights you’ll need to consume higher amount of proteins. and finally you want to consume about 40-50 percent of carbohydrates. Now you may say this guy is crazy telling me to consume so much carbs.. Carbs are bad.. etc, etc… however.. they’re are good carbs, and bad carbs the one you want to be consuming are good carbs of course. You want to be consuming the good carbs or the "COMPLEX CARBS" you can google list of complex carbs to get a full list. now fat has 9 calories per gram. so if you eat something that has 9 grams of total fat your consuming 81 calories just from fat.. Protein and Carbohydrates both have 4 calories per gram.. so that just gives you another view if you are on a calorie restricted diet. Also I highly recommend you eat 5-6 times a day, or every 2-3 hours but make it healthy foods. This might sound like a lot, but if you eat that much then your body will constantly be working (which will cause your body to work harder and burn more calories, in other words will higher your metabolism. if you eat 1-3 times a day your body won’t know when the next time your going to feed it, so it will go into "famine mode." and will store the nutrients you consume as fat, or will digest it slower which will slower your metabolism

Exercise: you want to do both anaerobic exercise and aerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercises or weigh lifting will help you because the more muscle your body has the more calories your body will burn.. Also the more muscle you have or want to put on the more you’ll have to eat has well.. Aerobic exercise or cardio are a great fat burner.. you suggested if there was anything else besides running that will help.. Of Course there are!! you can go on walks, or you can swim (swimming is a really good fat burner, and its also better on your joints) you can do cardio machines, such as the elliptical or the stair climber.. Anything that gets your heart to work harder is good for you.. Also try and change up your routine every 4-5 weeks, if you stick with the same routine your body will get used to it and plateau. you also want to know your maximum heart rate.. which an approximate one is 220 - your age.. so 220-19= 201.

Conclusion: anything is possible. Its very possible to lose that weight, and get to your desired weight. however it all comes with dedication, and how motivated you are.. if you dedicate your time to this and make this a Goal then you’ll complete it.. make realistic goals though.. a realistic goal would be like i want to lose 5-10 pounds by the end of this month.. and work on that one.. then when you accomplish it, you move to another goal, and so on.. if you just set one hard goal you’ll probably lose motivation, give up, and stop exercising.. I think you should incorporate anaerobic exercise (weight lifting) to your exercise routine it will help you burn more calories. I also recommend you to go on walks (30mins a day) or go swimming or take the stairs next time instead of the elevator, or park at the end of the parking lot instead of the front.. stuff like that will help you out in the long run. Also if you have access to a gym, then go there! and make your exercise program about 12 weeks long and exercise weekly.. if you go to a gym ask if you can get a personal trainer, there he can help you first hand, and he’ll also motivate you throughout your journey.

Again Good luck on your weightless plan! Stay motivated!

Quick Diet Challenge Tips?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: Im trying to lose 25 pounds quickly, in the most semi-safe way. I’m going to eat 1,000 calories of healthy food a day, and 6 days a week I use my exercise bike for a half hour, and walk for a half hour on the treadmill at a fast pace. Sense I’m not eating a whole lot of calories, I dont want to exhaust myself working out.

I dont need to hear that i’m not eating enough calories; or that I’ll gain it all back. I’v heard and understood that. my only question is, how long will it take me to lose 25 pounds?

(f) 4′11, 125 pounds. and if you’re not my height, you need to understand that I’m not reaching or have any goals that are too extreme. When you’re as little as me, 125 looks like a wholleeee lot. and i do have a tummy that has just got to go. So please, no negative comments. I plan on gaining a lot of muscle once I shape up a little, and go on a rather different diet. But like i said, can you tell me off this diet, how much time will it take me to lose 25 pounds?

Thank you & god bless

Answer: Awww! We’re like sisters! I’m the same height and around the same weight! My weight has always fluctuated though depending on how obsessive I am about it.

But, from years of obsessing about weight and diet and whatnot, I will shut up about all the things I think you’re doing wrong, BUT I do have some positive diet TIPS for you that will help!

Drink 2 glasses of ice water AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP! That’s a supermodel trick apparently! I tried it and, within a week, my clothing was looser, my complexion improved dramatically, and people even complimented me on how "refreshing" I looked! Also, drink a glass of water before every meal! Ice water is best because it has 0 calories and your body burns calories simply trying to warm up the water inside your body! Make sure to eat a lot of WHOLE/COMPLEX foods because, again, the body burns more calories just trying to break down those foods!

I used to know the formula for figuring out how long it would take to lose 25 lbs, but, girl, it really does depend on the intensity of your workout.

Good luck! :)

Dieting Tips? Other Than Fat and Calories.?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: Im 13 and trying to cut down and lose some weight over summer. im 5′3 and 126 lbs. it doesnt seem like much but im pretty chubby..
ive been eating activia lite yogurt for breakfast plus watermelon usually. for lunch ive been having healthy choice soup. it has 20% of my daily sodium which is 460 mg. i eat the whole can so its 920 mg. is that too much? its 40% of my daily amount, but the soup is supposed to be great for dieting and people on weight watchers and stuff. please help?
-P.S. ima guy
Answer: Hi :) One tip that is great is drinking 8 glasses of water a day! If you aren’t already doing this you will lose weight in a week! Promise! Normally your body has to fight to keep every bit of water it can. But if you drink a lot of water then it realizes that you are getting enough water and you aren’t going to die of thirst, so it releases more water and you become thinner. Plus drinking a lot of water keeps you feeling full and keeps you from snacking. The wonders of water. Water also helps hydrate your skin and makes your hair healthier. Hope this helped! :D

Im Trying to Dieting and Diets What Are Some Tips I Can Do to Burn the Most Calories?

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: also if i go running and wear a backpack filled with weights wll i be able to lose more and burn faster?
Answer: I stuck relegiously to it for 3 months and lose 7 pound. I have quite a lot to lose so i thought i would lose more. The main problem was i ended up with too much uric acid in the blood and now my joints are painful but im going to try fast tract hypnosis. Keeping my fingers crossed. My friend also tried it and only lost 3 pound in a month.
edit this is something i read
I should know. I’m an idiot.

I bought the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program a few years ago (Actually, I think it was called "Weight Loss 4 Idiots" then). I was tempted by their claim that I could "lose 9 pounds in 11 days" by "eating foods that I choose". I was excited to fork over my money and begin my journey to weight loss success.

What happened? Well, when I tried to select my foods, I was presented with a list of food choices, many of which I didn’t like. Despite what they’ll tell you in the advertisements, this is a high protein low carb diet. And I’m a vegetarian. There were many "fake meat" products to choose from, but I don’t like those either.

Still, I thought that I might be able to substitute foods that I did like and somehow apply the principle of the diet. I didn’t like what I saw. Other review sites will tell you that you get to eat "4 square meals a day" on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program. But this isn’t entirely true. You do get to eat four meals a day. However, the "meals" consist of one food only. How much of any one food can a person eat? Not much.

What about all the additional information that comes with the program? There was not a single piece of information on that site which I hadn’t already heard from a free source.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots only works because it is a very low calorie, low carb diet. However, it’s just that. A diet. It doesn’t teach you how to properly eat so that you don’t gain weight when you go off the diet. It’s likely that this is just a temporary solution.
The weight will come back.

The reality is that losing weight permanently isn’t easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. I know that’s not a popular sentiment, but it’s the truth. You are much better off making healthy changes over time that become a permanent part of your life.

Shannon Tani is a former fattie, who weighed over 220lbs. She has currently lost over 70lbs. One day she realized that people would rather hear dieting advice from someone who’s "been there, done that" than a boring old doctor who’s never been fat a day in his life. So she started the website Better Off Fat to share her experiences and ideas.

Why Are DIETS So Hard. I Lose Weight then Gain It Right Back…..ANYONE Have a Successful Diet [ADVICE & TIPS]?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: I know you have to cut calories and exercise more which is what I did; but I got exhausted on the treadmill. So what should I do?

How’d you lose weight?

NO ADVERTISING or you’ll be REPORTED and lose POINTS!!!!!!!

Answer: I maintain my body by working out 6 days a week with cardio and weight training. I also eat 6 meals a day 3 healthy main meals and 3 healthy snacks. You need to add weight training because that builds lean muscle which helps in burning fat, the more lean muscle you have the more fat you burn. Also dont weigh yourself because if you build muscle then you weigh more so instead you should measure your waist and you will see your results because your waist will get smaller. A lot of people I know have used "body for life" and it worked for them and they still use it. Me personally I just kind of did my own thing and im in pretty good shape. Check out body for life from what I understand its pretty simple and the friends of mine that used it say you dont really need the supplements they recommend but the diet and exercise plan work great.
