Healthy Diet Tips Needed!!?

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: Ive been eating salads everyday and have a cheat meal once a week for the past 3 years.. I have lost a lot of weight but now I m in a plateau and I want to maintain my current weight. I still wanna eat healthy. I’m a carb-food lover, mesomorph, hourglass female.. also I want to now whether if wraps, pita bread and wholemeal pasta are ok as they are the food which I enjoy eating most! Also I exercise 5-6 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes : a fast walk, cross trainer or some dumbells lifting.
Answer: Congratulations on your success to this point.
I must tell you that I am adamant that flour based foods need to be avoided as much as possible to truly lose weight. Try to get your whole grain from brown rice, barley, whole kernel corn (yes corn is a whole grain) and other grains. If it was dough once I usually avoid it.
You are doing it right. Sit down with pen and paper and write down everything you can think of that you are eating and drinking. Then take a hard look and find the simple carbohydrates that are submarining your effort to reach your final goal.
Good luck.

Cant Quite Pull This Fasting Liquid Only Diet Off. Tips, B Nice Now!?

Keep the diet tips questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: In the middle of the night, I am in a trance and I admit food psychologically reduces my anxiety/stress. I can control it in the day when I am "awake" but not during the middle of the night. I have packed our house with healthy food so it is not like I am eating a box of ice cream :), but anyway, besides nailing up the kitchen door or taping the frig shut with duck tape, ha ha any ideas?? Thanks! Afraid of drinking too much liquids before bed because, well you know.
Answer: Hang on, you mean you sleep-eat?

But a liquid only diet sounds terribly bad for you, sure it might help you lose weight but it will probably do damage in the long run.

NEED HELP ON DIET/EXCERSISE TIPS!!?

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: Hey guys, so i myself decided To get healthy and excersise. I’m 19 years old and I’m real determined to lose this weight. I started my diet on june 27. I started this journey at the weight of 238lbs. I was getting to heavy, just felt life being sucked out of me by grease lol. I am now 220 borderline 219. I want to hit my goal around 180 just for starters. When monday started i started to run 2 miles a day. I was at a weight loss pleatu earlier before i started running. I’ve been eating comfortably maybe around 1.6k calories. I would like to know if I’ve been doing good enough in my weight loss. And if I should improve on anything. Just maybe a good stratigized plan to help me manage. I know it’s possible for me to reach that goal, I guess I just need some reassurance in some way.. Any tips will help. As well what are some workouts i should do, or is running just enough, and a eating plan would be good. Thank you guys.
Answer: Well first of all I’m glad to hear that you are concerned about your well-being and want to change, and become a healthier person. To answer your question I’d like to separate it into categories. The first would be Diet.

Diet: you should be eating approximately 15-20% of your diet should be fat. Now when I say fat, i don’t mean trans fats, and all those other "bad fats" i mean "good fats" such as Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, or other healthy oils.. 30-40% of your diet should consist of Proteins. Proteins are very important for your bodes maintenance, and muscle repair. If you lift weights you’ll need to consume higher amount of proteins. and finally you want to consume about 40-50 percent of carbohydrates. Now you may say this guy is crazy telling me to consume so much carbs.. Carbs are bad.. etc, etc… however.. they’re are good carbs, and bad carbs the one you want to be consuming are good carbs of course. You want to be consuming the good carbs or the "COMPLEX CARBS" you can google list of complex carbs to get a full list. now fat has 9 calories per gram. so if you eat something that has 9 grams of total fat your consuming 81 calories just from fat.. Protein and Carbohydrates both have 4 calories per gram.. so that just gives you another view if you are on a calorie restricted diet. Also I highly recommend you eat 5-6 times a day, or every 2-3 hours but make it healthy foods. This might sound like a lot, but if you eat that much then your body will constantly be working (which will cause your body to work harder and burn more calories, in other words will higher your metabolism. if you eat 1-3 times a day your body won’t know when the next time your going to feed it, so it will go into "famine mode." and will store the nutrients you consume as fat, or will digest it slower which will slower your metabolism

Exercise: you want to do both anaerobic exercise and aerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercises or weigh lifting will help you because the more muscle your body has the more calories your body will burn.. Also the more muscle you have or want to put on the more you’ll have to eat has well.. Aerobic exercise or cardio are a great fat burner.. you suggested if there was anything else besides running that will help.. Of Course there are!! you can go on walks, or you can swim (swimming is a really good fat burner, and its also better on your joints) you can do cardio machines, such as the elliptical or the stair climber.. Anything that gets your heart to work harder is good for you.. Also try and change up your routine every 4-5 weeks, if you stick with the same routine your body will get used to it and plateau. you also want to know your maximum heart rate.. which an approximate one is 220 - your age.. so 220-19= 201.

Conclusion: anything is possible. Its very possible to lose that weight, and get to your desired weight. however it all comes with dedication, and how motivated you are.. if you dedicate your time to this and make this a Goal then you’ll complete it.. make realistic goals though.. a realistic goal would be like i want to lose 5-10 pounds by the end of this month.. and work on that one.. then when you accomplish it, you move to another goal, and so on.. if you just set one hard goal you’ll probably lose motivation, give up, and stop exercising.. I think you should incorporate anaerobic exercise (weight lifting) to your exercise routine it will help you burn more calories. I also recommend you to go on walks (30mins a day) or go swimming or take the stairs next time instead of the elevator, or park at the end of the parking lot instead of the front.. stuff like that will help you out in the long run. Also if you have access to a gym, then go there! and make your exercise program about 12 weeks long and exercise weekly.. if you go to a gym ask if you can get a personal trainer, there he can help you first hand, and he’ll also motivate you throughout your journey.

Again Good luck on your weightless plan! Stay motivated!

Whats Your Diet Routine? How Did You Loose Weight? Tell Me Your Ideas & Tips. Best Answer 10 Points :D Thanks ?

Question: Whats Your Diet Routine? How Did You Loose Weight? Tell Me Your Ideas & Tips. Best Answer 10 Points :D Thanks ?
Answer: Well , after I gave birth to my 2nd child ( who will be 3 on Monday :) at the age of 42 gained 25lbs and had to have a c-section , but I was in good shape prior to becoming pregnant and weight trained through out my pregnancy . I followed the same diet I’ve been doing which seems like forever . 5-6 small meals a day , consisting of 40% lean protein , 40% good carbs , 20% good fats and a gallon of water . Plus when I was released from the dr I was able to go back to weight training at 4 weeks after having my daughter . Within 2 months I was back to my pre pregnancy weight and lean :) . This is what my normal diet consists of daily give or take with the exception of a cheat meal on the weekends .

Breakfast - 1 cup of cooked oatmeal plain , 4 egg whites one yolk scrambled

Snack - protein and maybe a piece of fruit or cup of brocolli

Lunch - Whole wheat wrap with chicken , spinach , veggies , small amount of mozzarella cheese or
a spinach salad with chicken , veggies , vinegeratte dressing

Snack - Diced up chicken with salsa and plain greek yogurt ( tastes just like sour cream and has zero fat , low carbs ) or I will have 1/2 cup of cooked plain oatmeal with 1 tble of all natural peanut butter added to it .

Dinner - Chicken , fish or lean beef , brocolli , small salad

My eating habits are pretty boring lol . I eat to live not live to eat .There are days where I do not do a lot of carbs and try to rotate them around my weight training :) .

I started a diet about 1 3/4 of a month ago.
My start weight was 238. I felt horrible so i started eating right and excersising, and now i have gone down too 223

Could i be hitting a weight loss pleatu, and whats some good tips? I want to be aroud 180-190
Thanks alot for helping guys..

Jake

Answer: PUSH THROUGH IT! (:
You need to switch up your exercise routine too. Either push harder or switch it up completely. If you’ve been hitting the gym, go on an intense hike or swimming. I think switching up the exercise helps with plateaus..

Good job on your weight loss so far. You’ll get past it, I hate how great it feels so lose weight then entering a stand-still when you’re still working just as hard! haha

Does Anyone Have Any Tips for a Healthy Diet?

Keep the diet tips questions coming! I liked this one:

Question: I play field hockey and have a 3 hour practice everyday (until school starts). I’m looking to lose 30 lbs. but still need to have energy to keep up at my practices! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Answer: The best diet plan you should follow is one that incorporates high fiber, protein, whole grains, and fruits & vegetables. For a person that is moderately active, I would recommend sticking to a daily caloric intake of 1,500 calories…But since you are extremely active, you may want to take in about 1,700 calories a day. If you take in too few of calories — your metabolism will plummet.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day…So a good way to start your day would be to eat about 300 calories worth of food. Try eating two eggs (for high protein) and light yogurt (for protein, potassium, and fiber) and perhaps a piece of fruit, such as an apple or an orange. Fruit is high in fiber, which is great for regulating your digestive system. Also, since you’re so physically active, don’t forget to hydrate your body with plenty of water…Water is great for flushing out your system.

If you’re not sure of what amounts of servings to eat of what particular food group, I’d suggest following the Food Guide Pyramid. Here is a link for that:

Tips on How to Loose Weight Without Dieting or Excercise?

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I am trying to loose extra flab and weight i have from the holidays, however i really dont want to diet or do anymore exercise i’m just looking for like health drinks i can have or just things i need to do before i eat a meal, for example i herd that drinking hot water and lemon helps you loose weight? I just need small tips like that:)
Answer: It’s not possible to lose weight without dieting or exercise. Unless you don’t count healthy eating as dieting. But most people do. Exercise is pretty much essential to lose weight. It will build muscle thus helping you tone up. Here is what I recommend you do:
- When you get up in the morning drink a cup of green tea
- Eat six small meals a day
- Keep active wherever you go - simple things like walking to work/school and taking stairs instead of lift
- Don’t ’snack’ unless you count it as one of your six small meals
- Drink lots of water (chilled water is best).

However without proper cardio, you won’t be losing the weight that fast.

Hope this helped and good luck.

I Need Some Diet And Exercise Tips. Please Help?

A diet tips question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I’m looking to get in shape in the next 6 months. I’m 20 years old, 6′3" at 200lbs. I’m looking to get back into Crossfit and Muay Thai. I also plan to run everyday. Morning runs. At least 3 miles a day. I have my workout scheduled and planned out. It goes as followed:
Monday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Tuesday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Wednesday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Thursday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Friday: AM Run, PM Muay Thai
Saturday: AM Run, PM Crossfit
Sunday: Weight Training (For muscle mass)
What I need now is the diet. What combination of foods do I need in order to gain muscle and look leaner? Can someone help me?!
How will I know how many calories my body needs?
Answer: Well first of all its easier to make fat into muscle that to do both. But I went on a diet once that helped me loose alot of weight. for breakfast u drink a cup of orange juice at around 10 a diet yogurt for lunch u can eat grilled chicken with apsolutely not oil and some salad. Than at around 3 a slice of pineapple or another yogurt or a banana, at dinner chicken and salad again and thats it as for excercise alot of cardio till u get to the weight u want and start liftin weight or u can start off with cardio and weight lifting, less weight more repetition. O and if u get tired of chicken and salad u can try cauliflower and tilapia, grilled also, as for dressing u can have it with light balsamic vinegrette or lemon, and cut down on da salt. Helped me loose alot of weight. and remember at the beginning u loose alot of water weight so dont get discouraged if u start to loose less weight over time. Oh and no bread or pasta. Lol but if u wanna gain muscle maybe u can eat carbs once a weak.

Weight Loss Tips and Good Diets?

A diet tips question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I’m overweight. Around 5ft 4" and around 160lbs. Im going to canada in 2 years and i want to drop from a size 14 to a size 8. I want to start getting the weight off now so that i can keep it off and get in to the habbit of keeping it off. So basically i need a load of tips and diet ideas that are proven to work really well. Im hoping you lovely people have something for me :D.
Oh by the way please don’t comment about it being an unhealthy idea as i’m going to do it gradually.
Answer: count calories
do NOT eat carbs (bread, pasta, rice, cereal)
go on a 1-hour walk EVERY day

Eat mostly greens and vegetables (raw is better), 1-2 fruits a day, lean protein throughout the day, a pinch of sea salt (can be added to a salad), and nuts and healthy oils in moderation. healthy oils are: olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, flaxseed oil… you do NEED some sea salt/Himalayan salt and healthy oils in your diet to stay healthy, but they are high in calories, so eat in moderation.

Use stevia or raw honey to sweeten things up, instead of using sugar or artificial sweeteners!

things that speed up metabolism:
vitamin B12 and vitamin B3
raising pH level (less acidity in the body)
eating some lean protein throughout the day
1 tablespoon of coconut oil (google for more info)
drinking plenty of water daily!
exercise

If the cruise if like next week, you could go on a green smoothie and vegetable juice fast (google "victoria boutenko family" for more info on that! Also, youtube "Dr. Jonny Bowden" for more information on diet, based on scientific facts!! (I know that he says in one of this videos that calories aren’t the main issue when it comes to weight-loss, but it is still very important, so make sure you are counting the calories too!! just make sure you eat HEALTHY foods)

make Green Smoothies!! (recipes on youtube)…. they are healthy and nutritious!

Loose Weight Diets? Tips? Tricks?

Another diet tips question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: Loose Weight Diets? Tips? Tricks?
Answer: Ignore all the numbers sweetheart. What you need is a good ol’ fashioned workout.
Run everyday for 30 minutes. It will tone your body all over, sweat, and as you’re running, you are working every body part. Toning along the way.
Eat something small, like a carrot, or something 25-50 calories before working out, because your body will burn off the calories, then it’ll be in burning mode, so it’ll start burning fat.
If you don’t eat anything before working out, you will only burn muscle. Not so good- You’d have to start all over again.
Here’s a good tip: Burn more calories than you consume.
Say you eat 100 calories. You do something to burn more than 100 calories.
You must eat about 1000 calories a day.
I have these and they work great.

This one- Burns 1000 calories.
http://www.zumba.com/

This one- Gets you the same results as if you were working out for 6 hours, in just 30 minutes.
http://www.fluidity.com/

They’re fun.
Hope I helped.
