Keep the diet tips questions coming! I liked this one:
Question: I play field hockey and have a 3 hour practice everyday (until school starts). I’m looking to lose 30 lbs. but still need to have energy to keep up at my practices! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Answer: The best diet plan you should follow is one that incorporates high fiber, protein, whole grains, and fruits & vegetables. For a person that is moderately active, I would recommend sticking to a daily caloric intake of 1,500 calories…But since you are extremely active, you may want to take in about 1,700 calories a day. If you take in too few of calories — your metabolism will plummet.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day…So a good way to start your day would be to eat about 300 calories worth of food. Try eating two eggs (for high protein) and light yogurt (for protein, potassium, and fiber) and perhaps a piece of fruit, such as an apple or an orange. Fruit is high in fiber, which is great for regulating your digestive system. Also, since you’re so physically active, don’t forget to hydrate your body with plenty of water…Water is great for flushing out your system.
If you’re not sure of what amounts of servings to eat of what particular food group, I’d suggest following the Food Guide Pyramid. Here is a link for that:

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…
Question: I am trying to loose extra flab and weight i have from the holidays, however i really dont want to diet or do anymore exercise i’m just looking for like health drinks i can have or just things i need to do before i eat a meal, for example i herd that drinking hot water and lemon helps you loose weight? I just need small tips like that:)
Answer: It’s not possible to lose weight without dieting or exercise. Unless you don’t count healthy eating as dieting. But most people do. Exercise is pretty much essential to lose weight. It will build muscle thus helping you tone up. Here is what I recommend you do:
- When you get up in the morning drink a cup of green tea
- Eat six small meals a day
- Keep active wherever you go - simple things like walking to work/school and taking stairs instead of lift
- Don’t ’snack’ unless you count it as one of your six small meals
- Drink lots of water (chilled water is best).
However without proper cardio, you won’t be losing the weight that fast.
Hope this helped and good luck.

What I need now is the diet. What combination of foods do I need in order to gain muscle and look leaner? Can someone help me?!
How will I know how many calories my body needs?
Answer: Well first of all its easier to make fat into muscle that to do both. But I went on a diet once that helped me loose alot of weight. for breakfast u drink a cup of orange juice at around 10 a diet yogurt for lunch u can eat grilled chicken with apsolutely not oil and some salad. Than at around 3 a slice of pineapple or another yogurt or a banana, at dinner chicken and salad again and thats it as for excercise alot of cardio till u get to the weight u want and start liftin weight or u can start off with cardio and weight lifting, less weight more repetition. O and if u get tired of chicken and salad u can try cauliflower and tilapia, grilled also, as for dressing u can have it with light balsamic vinegrette or lemon, and cut down on da salt. Helped me loose alot of weight. and remember at the beginning u loose alot of water weight so dont get discouraged if u start to loose less weight over time. Oh and no bread or pasta. Lol but if u wanna gain muscle maybe u can eat carbs once a weak.

Question: I’m overweight. Around 5ft 4" and around 160lbs. Im going to canada in 2 years and i want to drop from a size 14 to a size 8. I want to start getting the weight off now so that i can keep it off and get in to the habbit of keeping it off. So basically i need a load of tips and diet ideas that are proven to work really well. Im hoping you lovely people have something for me :D.
Oh by the way please don’t comment about it being an unhealthy idea as i’m going to do it gradually.
Answer: count calories
do NOT eat carbs (bread, pasta, rice, cereal)
go on a 1-hour walk EVERY day
Eat mostly greens and vegetables (raw is better), 1-2 fruits a day, lean protein throughout the day, a pinch of sea salt (can be added to a salad), and nuts and healthy oils in moderation. healthy oils are: olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, flaxseed oil… you do NEED some sea salt/Himalayan salt and healthy oils in your diet to stay healthy, but they are high in calories, so eat in moderation.
Use stevia or raw honey to sweeten things up, instead of using sugar or artificial sweeteners!
things that speed up metabolism:
vitamin B12 and vitamin B3
raising pH level (less acidity in the body)
eating some lean protein throughout the day
1 tablespoon of coconut oil (google for more info)
drinking plenty of water daily!
exercise
If the cruise if like next week, you could go on a green smoothie and vegetable juice fast (google "victoria boutenko family" for more info on that! Also, youtube "Dr. Jonny Bowden" for more information on diet, based on scientific facts!! (I know that he says in one of this videos that calories aren’t the main issue when it comes to weight-loss, but it is still very important, so make sure you are counting the calories too!! just make sure you eat HEALTHY foods)
make Green Smoothies!! (recipes on youtube)…. they are healthy and nutritious!
Another diet tips question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: Loose Weight Diets? Tips? Tricks?
Answer: Ignore all the numbers sweetheart. What you need is a good ol’ fashioned workout.
Run everyday for 30 minutes. It will tone your body all over, sweat, and as you’re running, you are working every body part. Toning along the way.
Eat something small, like a carrot, or something 25-50 calories before working out, because your body will burn off the calories, then it’ll be in burning mode, so it’ll start burning fat.
If you don’t eat anything before working out, you will only burn muscle. Not so good- You’d have to start all over again.
Here’s a good tip: Burn more calories than you consume.
Say you eat 100 calories. You do something to burn more than 100 calories.
You must eat about 1000 calories a day.
I have these and they work great.
This one- Burns 1000 calories.

This one- Gets you the same results as if you were working out for 6 hours, in just 30 minutes.

They’re fun.
Hope I helped.

What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…
Question: Now I am 5′8 and weigh about 160 lbs, which isn’t much for a male, or even considered overweight, but I am not a muscly guy, so I would say I have an easy 10 lbs on my stomach/man boobs of beer greatness.
I will also note, that I do not want to loose any of the muscle mass I do have.
Now I have never really had to diet or work out a lot(outside of job requirements) so I am new to this.
So I was thinking a high nutrition/low carbs diet, you know, the food that sucks, and I was going going to foot march around 4-6 miles a day with about 40lbs in my back pack for the next two weeks, as well as moderate weight lifting just to keep my muscles, twice a week for just a half hour or so. Also keeping my daily calories low, 1300ish.
Would their be any weight loss outlook in that? And really, if I don’t really loose wait it does not matter, I just want to get rid of my torso fat. And also, would I Iose any muscle weight(I do not want this)?
Also note that I am a conditioned marcher so I do not need any input on that.

Answer: First: Knock off the beer. But don’t replace it with ice cream, sodas, candy, cake, etc.
What you need is a balanced diet. And exercise.
Guts come from overcarbing & lack of exercise, but replacing the carbs w/ a high protein diet will knock off some weight (with exercise), but it will come right back when you slip into old habits.
Recommended: The Zone, Barry Sears. He has a website & a dozen books. It’s all about a balanced diet that avoids the junk–fat & sugar–that is the staple of the modern American diet.
But you don’t starve yourself, there is plenty of variety. It’s just well-balanced. Like we used to eat.
It’s not a "crash"–just a healthy, gradual body readjustment.
This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: I got a few tips of my own but I want to see what else is there. Im really slim but I want to a body which is lean and defined but not bulging out and just athletic and with some mass and tone. I just need more mass. Any tips on exercises and diet and please guys keep it all natural and no supplements.
Answer: Eat, max out and rest. To build quick mass eat one gram of protein per pound of weight desired daily. So if you’re 180 and want to build to 190, take in 190g of protein daily. Max your weight out while lifting to where you can only do 5-7 reps each set, no more than 3 sets. And rest! Your muscles repair/grow while you sleep. Cut down on cardio and don’t work any part of your body more than 3 nonconsecutive days a week. Be sure to take at least one full day off per week as well. Stick with it and you’ll see nice mass growth in 5 weeks.
Another diet tips question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: i wanna lose my weight.i am 69/70 kg.i control my diet.now i wanna know about green tea effect because i saw japanese & chinese, they take green tea instead of water.is this green tea which keeps them smart & slender?
Answer: I’ve been there and done that. If you are really trying to lose weight, you have to stay dedicated and determined to do so. I lost around 50 pounds using just these simple tips I’m about to explain to you.
I found three things to be the best but you have to use them together in order to get some great results. You have to understand that you are what you eat first. Dieting is something you might have to stick in there with and follow through with one. Some people can while others can’t.
Personally I have lost a total of 50lbs since I have started my diet 12 month ago just by doing cardio, eating less and just more cardio lol. When I run I add this diet supplement to my water that fills me up while I work out. I ordered the sample bottle for around $6.96 which included the shipping and I am only halfway through the bottle lol. I got it from here if you want to give it a try http://ow.ly/5WSrX
This week’s question is as follows:
Question: Heya
could anyone please give me some idea of what kinds of foods’ i should eat if i want to lose weight? — i especially want to lose the weight around my legs, thank you (::
Answer: Different ‘experts’ give different answers to that question. However if you want to lose weight and keep it off then here are some tips.
1. Keep a diary of what you eat. You might work out you are eating a certain way and not know it.
2. Make changes slowly to your diet, say only make one change per week. Some changes will not work. That is OK, the next week make another change.
3. Avoid crash diets.
4. If you frequently feel hungry it is the fault of the diet, not you.
5. Drink plenty of water. This means water from the tap, not drinks from a can or bottle. OK to put water in the fridge and then drink it.
There is no way for you to select which areas to lose fat from.

Answer: Running, jogging, cycling, swimming, dancing, push ups, sit ups, squats, brisk walking and power walking all help for weight loss but dieting helps more.
