1.Exercise, a pound of fat is 3,500 calories. And to loose weight, you have to burn more calories than you eat. Do the math to figure how much you want to loose, then you’ll get what I mean.
2. Eat healthy, avoid any sugary food or drinks. Diet pop isn’t even a healthy alternative.
3. Drink water! Sooo much water! Water cleanses your body and gets rid of access waste.
4. Model’s are usually tan….So get in the sun!
5. Hmmm, Oh yeah, after you loose the weight(if thats what you want to do) , be sure to get toned. Look for toning exercise videos and stuff like that.

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: I’m 17, female, 5′4" and 240 pounds. I’m well aware I’m not thin, lol.
For the past few months I’ve decided to take action and actually work at
losing a lot of weight. A nice dream goal would be to get down to 130 or so.
I was wondering if anyone could please give me some dieting tips, advice, recipes
or anything that would aide me in this. I’m honestly confused when it comes to dieting
and eating, so any information at all would help me a lot.
For exercising, my routine is:
Dance-Cardio warm-up for 15 minutes.
25 crunches, 25 bike twists, 25 leg raises. (repeat 3 more times in between weights).
10 lb weights I use for:
50 bicep curls
50 tricep kick-backs
50 chest flies
50 back flies
Then 30 more minutes of dance-cardio.
And then the ab workout repeated 3 more times.
A LOT of stretching afterwards. And I do yoga at least 3 times a week.
Ideas, thoughts, opinions are all appreciated. I’m trying to learn as much as I can.
Answer: Your exercise program looks great. The cardio will help burn the calories while the strength training will help maintain the muscle. I would increase the weight you use though as 50 repetitions in one set is far to high. Using a heavier weight and do only 10-15 repetitions for 3 sets would be better. You will not become "muscley" as you will be restricting calories and can not build muscle in a calorie restricted state. Your goal is to maintain the muscle you have, as lean mass is the only thing we can do to maintain or raise our metabolism.
1. Restrict your calories. 1250-1500 is suffiecient.
2. Avoid sugar and fast food.
3. Consume lean meats and vegetables (no rice, pasta or potatos). This should be the bulk of your diet.
4. Snacks should consists of fruit and nuts.
5. Its okay to treat yourself occasionally (once or twice a week). Just make sure the treat isn’t excessive. An evil 300-500 calories twice a week is completely fine.
6. Consistency. The only way to fail is to stop.
Everyone cheats and everyone has days that they don’t want to work out. Falling short is fine, we all do it. You won’t "ruin" your diet, because it’s about lifestyle management, not about an indiscretion you had one day.

Answer: After spine surgery I gained 60 plus lbs. From family being nice and giving me all the things I wanted. From the surgery I could not exercise and walking was a chore. So with spine damage and no chance at exercise I remembered what my high school coach told me.
âIt calorie in and calorie burnedâ The way to burn weight is burn more than you take in. If you do this you will loose weight. So I counted calories and I nearly starved.
I started reading the diets out there. Atkins and south beach. Tried Atkins and lost weight. After loosing several lbs I shared the diet with friends and it worked for them as well. One fellow went from size 48 to 38 pants, stopped taking BP medication and stopped taking diabetes medication. Ate eggs and bacon for breakfast and life was good. I just had trouble holding to the diet. In time I gained the weight back. After the yo-yo dieting and radical eating soups and such, I started to do the common sense diet.
I found something that works and I plan to write a book on it. In the mean time I am will to share this much. The more your bowels work the better you will feel. Turn your diet into a high fiber diet and the more you eat the more you will loose. I find that âTotalâ raisin Bran will speed your digestion. So eat two or three bowel per day. Salads of fresh veggies will help as well. Yes, use dressing of some type and you need fats. Whole milk, (have documentation to prove it). And Metamucil in the mornin and after noon will help clean your bowels and keep you going. In time you will be able ot eat most any thing you like (as long as it makes you poop) and eat all you like. Things like steak with fat and good cuts of meat. Stay away from burgers and processed foods. Chicken meat and good cuts of pork are OK.
If you snack at night eat the Raisin bran and it will move you in the morning. No white bread, high grain breads are OK.
You need to eat 5 or 6 times per day. From early morning on. Eat small meals and in the am add fresh fruits.
I promise you will loose weight and in time start feeling much better. I have given this info to many people and all have lost weight,. None have had medical problems from it.

ive been eating activia lite yogurt for breakfast plus watermelon usually. for lunch ive been having healthy choice soup. it has 20% of my daily sodium which is 460 mg. i eat the whole can so its 920 mg. is that too much? its 40% of my daily amount, but the soup is supposed to be great for dieting and people on weight watchers and stuff. please help?

One tip that is great is drinking 8 glasses of water a day! If you aren’t already doing this you will lose weight in a week! Promise! Normally your body has to fight to keep every bit of water it can. But if you drink a lot of water then it realizes that you are getting enough water and you aren’t going to die of thirst, so it releases more water and you become thinner. Plus drinking a lot of water keeps you feeling full and keeps you from snacking. The wonders of water. Water also helps hydrate your skin and makes your hair healthier. Hope this helped!

Like, I only eat 2 things a day, then I have like a sandwitch (Bread, Mayo, Tomatetoe, & Turkey) I’m loosing my muffin top (SCORE) But I just need to know what cardio exercises can I do? I’m 5′8, So I should be 130 Pounds. I’m 173 Pounds. (Used to be 200 Pounds, take that b iii t c h e s ;3) & I only drink Water, & occationally a dr, peper or energy drink. What are some exercises I can do to Tighten up my stomach, make my arms less flabby, & my thighs less big? I’ve got all the rolls off my back ;D but I still need to work on my shoulder blades. & would a guy go for a big girl if she’s loosing the d a m n pounds?
Answer: first of all, make SURE U DONT GO ON AN EATING DISORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make sure u stick with a regular excersise program. u should always talk to a doctor to discuss what u want to accomplish and they can help u. well, jogging, push uos, sit ups, thank kinda thing. for legs, i like to do squats.

Answer: changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose excess fat, if combine with walking every day , especially. Also, you will feel much better mentally.
you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.
1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, lentils or dried beans (provide much "lean" protein) , grains (Asian basmati or jasmine rice gives lots of energy and can be found at your local oriental/asian market or some super markets), & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.
(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer and a rice cooker ((Both Very cheap)) .which, used together make it very easy to prepare very nutritional, healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil , diced garlic, pepper, sliced lemon and spices on top of steamed vegetables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are very healthy for your body too.)

Answer: Only leave food out for her morning and night, and put the food away during the day. Don’t worry if she misses her opportunity once at first, or even doesn’t eat for a day or so. If you do it consistenly, she will learn when you put the food out and come to eat then. A food schedule will make her lose all the weight that she needs to.

Answer: Eat healthy foods and get lots of exercise. Start eating smaller portions and only having one serving of anything you eat. Try drinking lots of tea, and hot beaverages, they make you feel full and not want to eat as much. Eat fruit and stay away from saturated fats, like butters.
