RE: Best Diet Tips for a 13 Years Old Girl in 3 Months?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: I’m just 13 years old but I look like 15 or 16 years old. ME, my parents,my teachers and friends wants me to lose weight because I’m really fat. I weight is 140 lbs and my height is just 5′2 . I have big hips and butt. I will be tired this April because I’ll take Volleyball practice, wushu practice, badminton practice, table tennis practice, rondalla practice, and dance practice *I love doing it* . I’ll be on Gym too with my bestfriends. I eat a lot. best food to eat?
Answer: hey, i’m 13 and trying to lose weight too!
i’m also 5′2! :P
what i suggest is keeping portion sizes small, and eating healthy snacks through out the day.
and keeping away from sugary treats and drinks.

instead of juice or coke, drink water.
and make sure you get protein (meats), and fruits and veggies, and carbs (bread, pasta, etc) because if you don’t, you’ll kill your metabolism.

for meat, make sure its always lean meat. stay away from pork, unless it’s lean, because usually pork is pretty fattening. chicken is good if it’s grilled instead of fried. and steak is really good for you.
for fruits and veggies, eat basically whatever you want, but put low-fat sauce or no sauce on them.
for carbs, you dont want to eat too many a day… so whole wheat bread, rice cakes, whole wheat pasta etc, are good.

for SNACKS. (mmmm, snacks)
fruits, veggies, rice cakes (good with salt and pepper), fat free yogurt, protein smoothies, corn chips and salsa (look for the healthy choice ones)…
are some of my favourites.

I just love answering these diet tips questions. Here’s another:

Question: I want to lose 25kg .. I weight like 65kg.. I have big hips, it’s size is 40inch :I .. my friends and parents wants me to lose some weight ..errr.. HELP ME PLEASE..
Answer: Add more fruits instead of junk food, The water in them will fill you up more, Try and join a gym or youth program at a local ymca. If you don’t feel like you need to lose weight then don’t, But don’t do it for family,friends,boys ect. It will only cause you self esteem issues down the road because your self worth will be determined on what others think and not yourself. Find it within your self. You are beautiful and don’t let anyone tell you different just because you don’t weight what they want you to. Your 13 your body is going to gain weight a little easier because you need extra fat right now because your reproductive system is trying to develop,among other things. Trust me once you hit high school if you eat healthy and exercise you will see a big change in your body, Its a phase that everyone goes through, your family is nuts for telling you otherwise! 15 Year Old Male 138 Pounds, 11-13% Body Fat, 5ft 10in Tall, Trying to Get Lean and Get Six Pack Abs, Diet Tip?

Question: How many calories should i eat a day to lower my body fat down to about 8 or 9%? (I know im skinny, im also trying to build some muscle mass)
Every one tells me im to skinny, i have a sixpack, i just want to get them more defined. and you need 8-9% body to have a good sixpack. I STILL NEED SOME GOOD ADVICE!!

Calories 2151.39 cal
Carbohydrates (55%) 1183.27 cal = 295.82 gm
Proteins (15%) 322.71 cal = 80.68 gm
Fats (30%) 645.42 cal = 71.71 gm

and…

Calories 2651.39 cal
Carbohydrates (55%) 1458.27 cal = 364.57 gm
Proteins (15%) 397.71 cal = 99.43 gm
Fats (30%) 795.42 cal = 88.37 gm

this is all for you personally, using the info you provided. Use the top one if your quite active: excersise at least 3-5 days a week of excercise and bottom one if your very active: 6-7 days a week of excercise.

makes sure you eat approximately:
3 cups dairy
2 cups fruit
2 1/2 cups vegetables
6 ounces grains
5 1/2 ounces meat and beans
per day

What's a Good Diet Tip That's Relatively Easy to Do?

Question: I don’t drink soda anymore. That seemed to help a lot.
Answer: Eat less… seriously its that easy. Eat less junk food and more healthy food. Losing weight can be very easy if you have the willpower to resist urges. Don’t completely stay away from the foods you love, or you’ll be more likely to fail and quit as you’ll be miserable. Best advise I can give… eat several small meals a day instead of three large meals. A constant source of food lets your body know that it will always have source of nutrition coming in and it doesn’t need to store as much as it used to…thus your metabolism naturally increases

How Do I Lose Weight, when Diet and Exercise Makes Me Sick? Need Tips?

Question: I am a male and struggle with my weight all my life, each time i try, i always get the same syptoms.

I was told not to eat past like 5pm, so i tried this, and i couldn’t sleep at all, It keeps me up all night long. I have to takes lots of sleeping pills and bananas to go to sleep If i dont put something in my stomach i will be up til noon, like peanut putter, etc. If i dont sleep, i will gain weight, so i cant win.

I was told , no carbs, no bread, So i dont eat bread, after 2 days, i get really bad stomach craps, and diarrhea, it is like water coming out, and i feel so sick.

I was told do the erercise in the morning, so i did, and this gives me watery diarrhea for some reason, i dont know why.

Even something weird happened to me, when i was doing a leg exercise at the gym, i had an orgasm for no reason,

What can I do to lose weight, and do exercises, without getting sick? What can I do to lose weight , what do i eat, so i can goto sleep at a decent hour.

Maybe i should start smoking, i heard that helps you lose weight. I will try anything, I am so desperate.

Right now i have bad stomach cramps and feel watery in my head, i had pizza yesturday b/c the stomachaches, cramps, headaches, and diarrhea from 0 bread and 0 carbs were so bad,

Answer: lol i think your just fussing to much, when you feel hungry instead of eating go drink some water, slowly eat less dont do it all in one chunk! reduce the proportions slowly and try to eat non fatty foods. eventually your stomach will shrink in size and you wont eat as much, and you wont be hungry as fast. the only wa is self dicipline. and maybe for excersise just go for a walk, doesnt have to be long but a walk everymorining for a month will do wonders you will be surprised.

Fitness Tips Please!!! I Workout So Much (insanity,p90,running) But I Dont How How to Diet! Tips Please?

A tough diet tips question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: Im 18 years old. I started p90 at height; 5′9.5" Weight:202. After 90 days of p90x (Paired with running 2-5 miles 3x a week) I was at 179. I now am 2 weeks into Insanity, and weigh 177. I am looking good, but i feel i could be doing alot better. I dont know how to eat that well. My idea of a good days meal is Breakfest: Cereal with banana. Snack: Yogurt and string cheese Lunch: cottage cheese Snack: Turkey sandwhich with peanuts Dinner: pasta with chicken, or peanuts. I also eat alot of peanut butter n jellys. I feel i eat to many fattening things, and i cant control my appetite at times. What do you guys eat to get so ripped? cause i can still feel some chub on my body even though i put my body through hell 6 days a week. Please give me what i should eat, and what time. Im clueless to how many calories, or what to put in my body
Answer: Eat lean meats, veggies and fruit.

Anything high in protein is awesome. What you are eating is, while quite healthy, nowhere near enough protein to build your body up. You need about 1g of protein per pound of body weight (177 grams a day dude). String cheese, yogurt and bananas just won’t work. You need about 6 meals a day (ok, 4 snacks if you count breakfast and dinner as *real* meals). 177/6=29.5g per meal.

Peanuts are fairly good.

Best I can find to get protein for least amount of calories are beans. One can of cannellini beans- 26g of protein. 2tbsp of peanut butter- 7 to 10 at best, plus a ton of *healthy* oils and fats, and a large number of calories. Also things like canned tuna and chicken breast are great- mid 20’s in protein.

Whey protein is actually a bit better, but it isn’t an obvious "food" nor completely required. Before and after a workout you can just drink one cup of milk (2%) and about 2/3 a scoop of whey protein- 30g of protein per drink.

Beans, whey protein, canned foods, lean meat, veggies, fruit. Fish is insanely healthy for you- some studies tout the reason that Japanese life expectancy is so long because of it. Lots of protein, few enough calories, mind blowing amounts of nutrients and healthy oils and fats…

Basically, breakfast; can of beans and an apple/banana, snack one; can of tuna and a handful of peanuts, lunch; home-cooked white chicken breast with cottage cheese or whatever, snacks two and three; whey protein mix or canned tuna/chicken with more nuts, dinner; salmon and an apple or enchilada/steak/spaghetti whatever floats your boat as long as it’s lean, low calorie and packed with protein (a ton of meat).

A handy snack, too, is something called Shamrock Farms’ "Rockin’ Refuel" Chocolate Milk- has whey protein already mixed into one bottle of chocolate milk, 20g of protein for about 300 calories.

Try to get that 29.5g of protein in under 400 calories to maintain fat levels, about 300 calories to lose fat whilst gaining muscle.

Answer: the only real proven way to lose weight is hard work! that means a healthy diet, small portion sizes, and a solid work out routine. i suggest starting with food swaps :) instead of a sandwich, have a low calorie mild flavored fish like mahi mahi or tilapia with mango salsa or fresh squeezed lemon on top. it’s delicious! not to mention stuff like carrots and hummus instead of chips and dip or egg whites with veggies/turkey pepperoni instead of the real stuff (14 slices = 70 calories) will save you a lot of calories. roasted chick peas will change your life, look up a recipe. you’ll love me for it! buttered popcorn flavored rice cakes topped with salsa is only 35 calories, or spinach with some laughing cow light swiss cheese mixed in is under 100 calories, creamy and delicious! if you begin to eat healthy and work out, you’ll be golden. start to run around your neighborhood, the pounds will drop. it’s also free and totally addicting :) i know it sucks at first, but it becomes worth it. ask anyone who runs.

A tough diet tips question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I want to start a diet program, Maybe just at home, as we do not have that much money to spare at this time. I tend to eat when I’m bored, or emotionally distressed… As much as i hate for what i have let food do to me, I can’t stop!, please help me, I’m honestly desperate right now…
Answer: Switch from white rice,bread, and pasta to whole grain.
Don’t drink any soft drinks, only water. Juices have alot of sugar in them, instead of a glass of OJ with a bunch of sugar in it just eat an actual orange. Green tea is also great, not black tea and not coffee.
No more trans fats (fried food)
As little saturated fats as possible, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated are better.
Don’t eat alot of red meat, its hard for your body to digest, fish is better. Eat fish that are low in mercury (tilapia, shrimp, Mackerel , oyster, Salmon, Sardine, etc.)
Eat alot of veggies, veggies with everymeal and a variety try to have a little of every color on your plate.
Eat fruit too but not too much because fruits do have sugar in them.

Portion control, if you have less on your plate and you savor it, you will naturally eat less. American restaurants serve ridiculous portions. Alot of times you will eat more calories in one meal than you should in a day.

Eat six small meals a day, or 3 medium size meals and 3 snacks. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be the largest.

Any Weight Loss Diet Tips?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: I’m 113 pounds, 5′2.

I’m trying to lose body fat, I don’t care about the weight or anything, just the physical appearance.

Answer: I think you might be getting a little mixed up with what you want exactly. You say that you want to lose "weight" but that means you might want to get rid of some muscle too. You then say that you’d like to "shape" (I’d call it tone) your body a little which implies you want to build some muscle. I’m not trying to pick at your question - I just want to clarify the point for you.

To answer it in the best way, I am going to look at it as if you want to get rid of fat AND build muscle at the same time. If you’re looking to "trim" and "tone" your body, and espectially because you suggest you are not that overweight, I would suggest you start performing more intensive aerobic exercises such as jogging. I wouldn’t think you need to change the whole way you eat or go on a diet because if you’re wanting to build muscles - it’s better to do it all with exercise.

Exercises like jogging won’t exactly "build" your muscles on your stomach but they will help reduce the extra fat around there. Depending on how fit you are, you should go on daily or bi-daily jogs of around a mile. To build muscles, you should concentrate on anaerobic exercises such as sit-ups to help build muscles.

These muscle-building exercises will give your muscles the toning and training they need to grow and become more prominent. To start to see a real difference with sit-ups, you should be looking to do no more than 100 every day (more than that will often hurt your muscles).

If you stick to doing those two forms of exercise - jogging and sit-ups, you should see real improvements in a week or two. Remember, you should do them as often as you can (I.E every single day).
