A tough diet tips question this week. Let’s dive straight in
Question: I just got a Bowflew workout thing for christmas. And was wondering if it really works.?
Now for the real questions.:
I always go on diets because im horrible at keeping track of calories, what i should eat etc.
So when i have a diet i know what foods i can and cannot eat i tried the Atkins (however you spell it) but its just to hard im about 10 lbs. overweight…so i just need to lose that much. How long would that take?and What diet can i use because i Always cave when i dont have a list of foods i can eat so that is why i need a diet….i know crazy. Im not going on one of those Extreme diets where you just drink water for a week etc… ha
And other question if you have a website that takes me exactly to where it shows me how to use the bowflex please copy and paste.
So to refresh my questions are:
-Is the bowflex a good workout machine
-What diet can i use
-How long would it take to lose 10lbs. (if i actually put effort into it)
-Website for uses of bowflex
P.S-If i stretch everyday once a day (arms, legs,) and do situps will that help alot or barely.?
Thanks alot for all the answers!
Happy Holidays!
P.S.S im really wanting to get fit before summer!!!!!(:
Answer: This is a link to an article on getting faster results with your bowflex: http://ezinearticles.com/?Bowflex-Exercises—The-Secret-to-Getting-Faster-Results-With-Your-Bowflex-Exercises&id=1729290
Yes, it is a good machine, as long as you have the discipline to stick with it.
Some of my friends have had the best dieting results by not going on a specific diet, but just cutting out sodas.
Stretching is a good warm-up, but if you’re going for weight loss, you need some type of aerobic activity that gets your heart rate up. Even a brisk walk will do the trick.
Good luck!

Answer: Don’t eat anything fried. Eat lots of fresh veggies–raw if you can. You have to find the time to walk or work out. No excuses.
Another diet tips question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: Ok i just recently moved from newcastle to london after finishing university. At uni i had a strict fitness plan i was 210 pounds of muscle with a bodyfat of 4% but i’ve decided to give up the bodybuilding lifestyle. The reason is i just took a job as a journalist in london and bought a couple of pugs to keep me company i wish to settle down and be healthy. i play badminton now and again and of course i will be walking my dog but i have a few questions; will i gain weight now? Will my muscle deteriorate quickly into fat? will i always be this big? What sort of things should i eat now?
Answer: Hi there, I think the combination of proper nutrition, including portion control, along with exercise is most effective for control your weight. I also found this link, which contains tips for weight control / lose weight if it is excessive, I hope this link helps. enjoy!!
What a great diet tips question:
Question: Hi , I’m in 8th grade , and I’m not too large , but I am chubby in the belly area, and I’m starting to get these really small stretch marks on my arms, and I’d really like too lose some weight. Do you have any advice on workouts or food to eat or to avoid. For example, lately I’ve only been drinking water and Gatorade, and i heard that it’s best to cut out pop completely. Also , is it okay to low-fat bagels and cheese ? I have an exercise video called "the biggest loser workout cardio max".
I really appreciate all of your answers
Answer: I’m currently on a strict diet and what I’m doing is cutting out completely bread, butter, and salad dressing because those are 3 main things that are super fattening or high in carbs that people tend to over eat then never work off. Excercise. Eating for pleasure is bad. Eat on a schedule and have the meals 5 hours apart, 3 meals a day, I stopped excercising completely for 2 months and just had an eating schedule and still lost like 2 pant sizes man. Also a good way to keep off fat is to have muscle cause muscle eats fat. If you must have a sweet you should eat fruit, especially pineapple or something, cause you can eat 6 cookies, but who in the world is going to sit there and eat 6 pineapples? Also if you think you’re hungry go chug a glass of water first then see if you’re still hungry, people confuse hunger and thirst so much you can’t tell sometimes so it’s a good test. Those are my best tips for fast weight loss, and they’re healthy so once it’s off it won’t come back that easily. Good luck and TONS of water.
I just love answering these diet tips questions. Here’s another:
Question: I hate the cafeteria/dining hall options, how can I do an inexpensive low carb diet in college. I don’t eat beans or other legumes and I hate canned food (it taste like slimy sawdust seasoned with metal)
Answer: You need to be really inventive. This is what I did in campus and I lost 23 pounds within 2 weeks.
1. Eat burgers but throw away buns
2. Order meat-lovers pizza but eat only toppings and throw away the crust
3. Eat peanuts in shells. You can buy a big bag and keep it nearby if you get hungry
4. Chicken or any poultry is OK.
5. Any kind of cheese is OK.
6. Switch to half-n-half instead of milk. Milk contains excessive carbs.
7. You can drink diet coke but it causes blood imbalance. Drink water but squeeze lemon in it for taste.
8. If you want something sweet, use Splenda instead of sugar.
I am absolutely positive that if you manage to stay off carbs for at least 2 weeks you will lose about 20 pounds in this short time.
This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: help me please! give me some tips about what diet should i take and avoid to prevent my hair loss. thanks!
Answer: Diet for hair loss:
Although there are numerous treatments that offer results, a variety of natural treatments provide help for anyone troubled with hair loss. Iron-rich foods such as broccoli or liver and foods containing vitamin B-12 eggs, meat and poultry can also help to reverse hair loss. Eating more fruits and vegetables is important to healthy hair growth as well.
Eating natural diet for hair loss is a great source of nourishment for the hair. The same foods that are great for your body and your health are excellent for your hair. These foods are high in protein, low in carbohydrates and have a reduced fat content. Diet for hair loss can be prepared at home and used to treat all types of hair loss in both men and women:
Honey
Honey has a high nutrient value and has been widely known throughout time for treating hair loss. Slice garlic and massage it into your scalp to the critical spots or where you notice hair loss. This will increase the circulation, binding the hair growth.
Almond
Almond oil has a spectacular effect on the scalp.
Pumpkin
Pumpkin-seed oil is known to affect the DHT level, a type of testosterone that stunts hair growth. There are no guarantees that food solutions will work for you or your hair loss problem.
Garlic
Due to its antibacterial quality and antioxidants, garlic can provide the scalp and follicles with the proper amount of vitamins and nutrients needed to grow hair. This will increase the circulation, binding the hair growth. Slice garlic and massage it into your scalp to the critical spots or where you notice hair loss.

Answer: Be on a good weight training program along with a very good, well-balanced diet and do a lot od cardio and keep increasing the cardio to increase your stamina and to also increase your fat loss and you will be just fine. Avoid fatty foods, watch your Portion Sizes and cut sweets right out. Eat only good foods.
This week’s question is as follows:
Question: I am on a diet and need to do some exercise at home as it is winter and there is snow everywhere.
Any one got any exercises i can do at home that doesnt involve going outside or buying gym equiptment. And also has anybody got some healthy snack ideas to give me?
Many thanks
Answer: Here’s what I do to keep the weight I lost over the summer off: I have a couple of 20 lb dumbbells near my front window and I do a few different upper body exercises with them while I look at the snow out the window. We have 8 miles of shopping mall tunnels where I live so I can still go for long walks (I avoid all the food courts) I use the stairs all the time - even if where I’m going is on the 15th floor. I don’t do sit ups because I’ve heard they are bad for the lower back. Instead I do leg raises, both up and down and side to side. Below is a good site:
Healthy snacks: I used to make great cookies. I cut that out. I make pizza on pita bread instead of ordering it in. Better and cheaper! No chips and no booze. This is slow but I lose weight and keep it off.
Good luck
What’s this week’s diet tips question? Let’s dive straight in…
Question: I have a low metabolism and no matter what I do I can’t lose weight. Lately I’ve been eating less for lunch and breakfast because all I’m doing is sitting in a chair waiting for class to be over, I don’t really have time to excercise but I do have a excercise bike sitting in my corner that I can use, its just so boring. So any advice on what I can eat and stuff?
PS the only veggie I like that’s not like corn or potato is spinach. And I hate salad dressing so I eat like dried strawberrys and almond flakes on it
Answer: Exercise:
I have lost 35 pounds and kept it off for a year and a half. I recommend running for at least twelve minutes a day, also if you want a really good workout, bring 3 pound weights for each arm and run with them. You can burn twice as much calories by doing so.
Diet:
My most helpful tip for a healthy diet is to ALWAYS have something in your stomach, and never let yourself go hungry. This helps speed up your metabolism, so you burn more calories easily. I know some people may say to have a big breakfast. However, if you have too much for breakfast, you can stretch out your stomach and then end up eating more than you thought you ate. If you are about to burn lots of calories, I recommend you have a reasonable amount of calories and protein for breakfast. If you just sit around all day, I recommend you just have a small breakfast, and have small- but nutritional snacks. Such as: weight watchers ice cream sandwiches and popsicles, non-fat yogurt, PRETZEL m&ms (I like these because they only have 150 calories, and 5 grams of fat), ice cold water, rice cakes, hard boiled eggs (w/o the yolk), slices of mozzerella cheese, and sugar-free gum. (I like to have gum when I have had too many calories that day and I can’t afford to have any more calories, so I just have gum which is only five calories.)
Extra Tips:
Avoid mayo, olive oil, butter, and peanut butter. These foods are really great ways of getting fat really quickly. Always count your calories, and ALWAYS check the labels on everything you are about to eat or buy. If there are no labels on it, and you know it is known as being bad for you, then stay AWAY from it.
Hope I helped (:
Keep the diet tips questions coming! I liked this one:
Question: I’m 15 yrs old and I weigh about 58 kgs and I want to lose alot of weight!!! i’ve tried to diet before but it never really worked out because I would eat something I shouldn’t, I was just wondering if anyone had some good tips to give me so I will stay with my diet
Answer: I lost a TON of weight in one summer by following two tips. Sleep 11 hours and walk everywhere. XD Trust me walking will be the easiest and most efficient exercise you could ever do. I was in Korea during that summer so I had to walk everywhere and I think I lost about 20 pounds just by walking. I still ate the same amount and I haven’t been gaining any weight since and I’m still losing
hope this helps
