As for diet coke, keep some cans on hand and do NOT refrigerate them. Open up a few of those when you'd normally reach for a cold one. They're replusive that way; you won't get two sips down. Soon, you'll develop an aversion to Diet Coke in general! Good luck!!!

Question: Does Anyone Have Any Good Receipes or Tips for the Candida Diet?

Secondly, Stevia is a natural sweetener that does not feed the Candida. STevia is 300X sweeter than sugar. It does not lose its properties when you cook with it. It is calorie free, carb free and does not raise the glycemic index. Add it plain yogurt along with cinnamon and you have an excellent dessert. I have used it in iced tea, coffee, etc. It is great. I found that the KAL brand pure stevia is by far the best. It does not have an aftertaste. The candida diet is very tough to stick with and the stevia was a lifesaver for me.

Secondly:
1. Reduce sugar intake. Intake of sugar will cause an insulin reaction that will lower your blood sugar. This will cause you to feel hungry and want to eat again. If you then choose a sugary or starchy food, you've started the cycle over again.
Try eating vegetables, cheeses, meats and other low carb options. When you want to snack, stay away from sugary items. Stay away from Soft drinks! Stay away from sugar substitutes. Sometimes your insulin system mistakes these for sugar.
2. Eat small frequent meals. Eat about enough to curb your hunger for about 2-3 hours. Then eat again when your hunger comes back. You'll find that the total calories you consume will be much lower than if you ate a few big meals. I reccomend 5-6 small meals per day.
3. Drink lots of water. Sometimes your brain will confuse it's signals and you will find yourself eating when you are actually dehydrated. 64-96 ounces per day works great. That's A LOT, but start small and work up to it.
Good luck and God Bless!

Question:Any Tips to Avoid Cheating on Your Diet at Parties or Get Togethers.?

I have three suggestions for you that have worked for me time and time again:
1)before you go to the party, eat a sensible meal so that you don’t arrive hungry. The foods at parties are usually calorie-rich and not the best for one’s waistline.
2)When we go to parties, we seem to always have a drink in our hands. So, drink water instead of only the beverages served. Alcohol will inhibit your resolve to cut down on intake, and sugar-rich beverages are high in calories. So drink lots of water along with other beverages.
3)Finally, really enjoy the food. Appreciate how it looks. Then take small bites and savor the great flavors. Chew each bite really well and eat slowly. Gorging works against just about every good thing food can provide . . . so take it easy and really take pleasure in all that is served.
Have fun and Happy New Year!
